Pre-Law Program
Overview
The Pre-Law program at URI provides preparation, support and advising for students who are considering applying to law school, whatever your major may be. Our team of advisors are here to guide you through your undergraduate studies and help you choose the degree program(s), courses, experiential opportunities, and other activities that will pave your way to law school, and beyond.
And, we work in conjunction with state agencies and local lawyers, to provide you with internship opportunities in law firms and legal departments such as the Attorney General’s Office and the Public Defender’s Office.
When the time comes, we’ll assist you with preparing law school applications, scheduling of interviews with law school recruiters, and Law School Admission Test (LSAT) preparation. We’ll also help you choose the right schools for you, and work with you on the application process
If you think law school could be in your future, please see a Prelaw Advisor (Chris Parker, 305 Washburn Hall, cmparker@uri.edu ) as soon as possible after arriving at URI. You’ll also want to visit the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) website, which is full of helpful resources.
