Research Development
Before InfoEd submission — helps you develop a research strategy, find funding, draft competitive grants, and bring together teams across disciplines.

Research Concierges

 Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP)

  • Pre-Award
    Think Monopoly money! Reviews proposals, assists with submissions, and handles non-financial reports (InfoEd).
  • Award Intake
    Reviews and accepts awards, enters data into InfoEd, and ensures required compliance is in place (InfoEd)!
  • Post-Award
    Completes detailed budget entry and project setup in PeopleSoft; monitors award terms, conditions, and compliance; manages post-award actions such as rebudgeting; and provides guidance on allowable costs and reporting (InfoEd/PeopleSoft).

Comparative Biology Resources Center (CBRC)
Provides top-notch care for animals used in teaching and research.

Research Security
Supports researchers in meeting federal and institutional requirements related to export controls, cybersecurity, foreign influence, and other emerging research security risks.

Office of Research Integrity Oversees COI, human subjects, research ethics, and other compliance areas to promote ethical and responsible conduct of research.

Intellectual Property & Economic Development
Supports faculty and students in protecting inventions, securing patents, and advancing commercialization of research discoveries.

Research Information Systems & Strategy
Manages InfoEd and other research systems — but for proposal help, start with your Pre-Award Specialist!

Research Communications
Showcases URI research accomplishments internally and externally through print and online. Celebrates faculty, staff, and student research with annual award events. Assists in organizing conferences, seminars, poster sessions, and workshops to highlight URI researchers and inventors. Keeps the URI research website up to date with critical grant-related resources.

Division of Administration & Finance — Controller’s Office:

Sponsored & Cost Accounting
Manages grant billing, financial reporting, and financial compliance (PeopleSoft).
