Trainings

A variety of trainings and educational opportunities are available to faculty, staff, and student researchers, and in many cases training is required. These trainings are needed to support safe, ethical, and compliant research conduct at URI.

Animal Care Training

The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) requires training for all staff and students conducting research with animals.

Biosafety Training

URI’s Environmental Health and Safety Office provides comprehensive trainings for those conducting biological research.

Compliance Training

Compliance training for human subjects research is offered through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI).

Diving Training

The Diving Research and Safety Program offers for-credit and not-for-credit recreational and professional certification programs.

Financial COI Training

Financial Conflict of Interest training is required for anyone designing, conducting, or reporting funded research at URI.

InfoEd Training

Research Security Training

The National Science Foundation (NSF) requires export control and research security training, both available through CITI.
