Brie Oaks, Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition at the University of Rhode Island, has helped numerous faculty members learn the strategies they need to succeed and thrive in academia. After years of watching her colleagues across universities struggle with being overworked and overwhelmed, Brie began training as a professional coach with the goal of supporting faculty in the way that they need and deserve. In addition to being a professor, she now provides leadership through Basebridge Coaching and serves as the primary Faculty Advancement Coach. She is one of the few individuals out there that has professional coach training and can apply it to the unique hardships and complexities of being a professor. “The RISBDC was instrumental in giving me the confidence to start my business.
