Odettas

Odettas is the brainchild of Sabine Accetta and Cindy O’Donnell. Together, the duo creates handmade decorations, fashions, and a variety of eco-friendly jewelry — including pieces made with locally sourced sea glass. The pair are regulars at local craft and vendor fairs around New England.

While Etsy and craft fairs were bringing in orders, Accetta and O’Donnell were looking to turn the business from a hobby into a profit-generator. They asked RISBDC’s Amit Basnet for business support. His team met with the entrepreneurs and identified a series of business growth opportunities — including expanding their social media footprint in order to generate more revenue, boost networking opportunities, and obtain earned media exposure. In addition, they were very pleased to receive guidance on how to launch the e-commerce business and learn best practices for marketing.

With a new marketing plan underway, the pair took a leap of faith and opened a pop-up shop inside a successful flower business. To get the word out about their business expansion, RISBDC offered assistance with local press outreach and social media promotion. In turn, the event was posted on a prominent news outlet.

“Our Grand Opening was a success!
Thanks so much for your help RISBDC!” Sabine & Cindy
