This is a creative writing course focused on Africana writing and cultural texts. We will explore the themes and techniques used in Africana creative texts, broadly defined. There will be discussions of what gives a text its cultural character, specifically as it relates to the Africana context and things “Black.” Students will do creative writing using the techniques studied in the works discussed in the class.
