Register

Overview

Registration for summer courses offered online or in Kingston is done on e-Campus, URI’s student information system.

URI students

URI students, please register online via e-Campus. Applications for URI Summer Sessions international and off-campus programs are accepted online through our URIAbroad system and the Office of International Education can help provide support along the way.

Non-Matriculating Students

If you do not attend URI full time or this is your first time registering for a course here, you will need to submit a Non-Degree Student Application Form to be able to register in e-Campus. Please see the New Students section for complete information.

International Non-Matriculating Students should review the URI policy on student visas before completing the non-degree student application form.

Prior Learning Assessment

Your experience matters. If you have prior learning experiences, for example, from the workforce, a certificate, training, licensure, the military, or elsewhere, you may qualify to earn college credit at URI. PLA 100 is a one-credit course that guides you in writing a portfolio about your learning that has occurred outside of the traditional academic environment. If you are interested in taking this course, please email Dr. Kim Stack, Executive Director for Undergraduate Student Success and Academic Support, at kstack@uri.edu.

Enrollment Maximums

Students may enroll in up to eight credits for each summer session and a maximum of 16 credits for an entire summer term. If you wish to exceed the enrollment threshold for a given summer session or summer term, you may petition to do so via the URI Summer credit override form.

Transferring credits to URI

URI students who want to transfer credits earned at another school can click here. Still have questions? Email them to transfer@etal.uri.edu.

Remember, the credits you transfer back to URI from completing a summer course at another institution will never come with the grade you earned for the course. If you are looking to affect your GPA this summer, you can only do so with URI Summer courses.
