EDC 586: Problems in Education: Instructional Strategies for Diversified Classrooms

This course will explore contemporary challenges and solutions to teaching/training adults and young adults around issues of race and racism in the United States. With the use of critical dialogue, critical lenses and adult learning methods, the course aims to equip those in academic, post-secondary, corporate and community spaces with unique tools to engage core issues that impact equity focused learning spaces. Sample sessions include: “Why race? Why now? How the past frames the present”; “Race, Equity and Designing for Instruction”; “Can we really talk? Effective Dialogic Approaches”. May be repeated for credit with different topic.
