TD Nation Remembers Brothers United for Action (BUA)

Today in Black History, the Talent Development Program would like to pay homage to the men of Brothers United for Action (BUA).

Established 30 years into the creation of TD Nation, the men of BUA were a group of scholars who recognized and witnessed the injustices towards marginalized populations at the University of Rhode Island. Their Two Demands and Ten Points of Light served the purpose of addressing those issues was instrumental in pointing URI towards diverse and comprehensive change.

Student activism within TD Nation began well before BUA and continues to exist in present day. As we enter our 50th year, we continue to encourage our scholars to speak out against injustice and stand by BUA’s first demand which was “JUSTICE for all!” Thank you to the members of BUA and their advisors for leading this necessary movement. We continue to recognize your efforts and great work!
