Sign Up:
For a slot, please sign up on the sheets outside of the main office or contact the main office to schedule a time slot (401.874.5921). Time slot sheets will be up a week or two before the auditions. If you can, please fill the Tuesday slots first, as we want to leave space on Wednesday for those students who are unable to audition on Tuesday, due to conflicts.
Audition Requirements for MARIE ANTOINETTE:
- Please prepare and memorize a 1-2 minute comedic monologue (classic or contemporary). Please note that characters in Marie
Antoinette speak with sharp-toothed wittiness. Look for material
that will offer that tone (Moliere is a great example).
Audition Requirements for SPEECH & DEBATE:
- Please prepare and memorize a 1-to-2-minute monologue that you think speaks to contemporary adolescence. It does not matter whether dramatic or comedic so long as the chosen monologue belongs to/is unique to a character who is an adolescent in the late 20th or early 21st century.
If time permits, you may be asked to make adjustments in the audition room or discuss your work. Callbacks will consist of group and individual sides from the script. Those called back for the role of Diwata should also prepare 32 bars of a playful song to be sung acapella.
