Easy steps to improve your tick photo submission
Step 1
Remove the tick from bag or container with a pointy tweezer.
(plastic bags often distort the tick image making identification difficult)

Step 2
Place the tick on a flat, white background – top side facing up.
(make sure you have good top lighting)

Step 3
Move your camera or smart phone to focus on the tick. There are two different types of ticks that require different focus attention:
Engorged “Round” Ticks:

Unfed “Flat” Ticks:
