The University of Rhode Island Center for Vector-borne Disease (Mather lab) in partnership with the New England Center of Excellence in Vector-Borne Diseases, is seeking a highly-motivated graduate student to join its team of innovators re-imagining tick bite protection and tickborne disease prevention. The successful candidate should be interested in investigating novel products and strategies for residential tick control beginning as early as Fall 2022. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated problem-solving skills, a basic statistical background, some field experience, and an ability to work both independently and as a productive member of a research team. Applicants should possess a B.S. or B.A. degree, ideally in biology, environmental science, or a related discipline. In addition, interested candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
