Tuition Waiver Types

Senior Citizen

Rhode Island residents that are at least 60 years of age may be eligible for a waiver of tuition. All other required fees are the responsibility of the student and should be submitted with the waiver forms. The student may be matriculated or non-matriculated (non-degree seeking).

  • Proof of age must be submitted.
  • A “Senior Citizen Means Test” must be submitted for eligibility determination. Appropriate Federal Tax forms and W-2 forms must accompany the Means Test.
  • Matriculated students are required to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before submitting a waiver. The FAFSA, and any verification documentation requested by Enrollment Services, will be used to determine financial aid eligibility.  Scholarship and grant funds received will be used to defray the cost of tuition and will reduce the amount of the waiver award. (The FAFSA can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov).
