Undergraduate Admission

The first thing you will need to determine is your eligibility to apply either as a first-year or transfer student. We encourage first year and transfer students to review the admission requirements below that pertain to you:

First Year Students

URI will waive the application fee for all U.S. military veteran undergraduate applicants. Please ensure you identify as a veteran on the Common Application. Dependents of veterans are not eligible for the application fee waiver.

Your application will be reviewed when the URI Office of Admission has received all materials below:

  • Essay (pharmacy applicants must include an additional paragraph explaining their choice of major)
  • Official high school transcript (preferably through the Common Application)

  • Requests for year-long deferrals are only granted in cases of military service, medical issues, or documented gap years. You may review URI’s deferral process for more details.
