Global Education

The task force on global education will develop recommendations for an integrated process and approach that will support, foster, and preserve the development of global competencies and values as articulated in the Academic Plan. The task force shall develop these recommendations towards ensuring a culture where students and faculty are equipped with the knowledge and experiences to function as responsible and inquisitive global citizens who accept the equality of the world’s cultures.

The task force will inventory existing processes and structures and will develop strategies that advance global education through recommendations, that:

  • Identify the barriers that inhibit awareness and growth of global initiatives
  • Support academic units in curricula planning and assessment
  • Assist administrative units in the development of programs and new initiatives
  • Advance partnerships between the University and other educational institutions
  • Sustains a global community and global education, including recruitment of international students and inviting international scholars to campus
