MELISSA CRAI is a senior and was the first full year chapter President of Alpha Xi Delta last year. Melissa has remained involved with her chapter by being the current Membership Vice President of AXiD. Being super involved in her chapter, Melissa still has spare time to active in her major and being a member of the URI Student Speech Language Hearing Association. While connecting her major with involvement, she also connects her job with her sorority’s philanthropy. Melissa works as a Behavior Specialist for Perspectives Corporation, where she does home based therapy for children with Autism (AXiD’s philanthropy).  Melissa has loved being apart of Greek Life for all the skills she has gained. “My favorite part about being involved is the opportunity to meet so many people,” she says. “Greek Life has been a great way for me to stay connected and learning how to be an active leader. I have gained experience in knowing how to adapt to my settings and how to manage whatever situation I am in.” Because of her involvement, she feels that she has found her purpose on campus. Although she will be graduating this year, her journey is only beginning and continues to learn something new every day. Melissa is ambitious and plans to attend graduate school and get a masters degree in Speech Pathology. Especially, she wants to be a Speech Pathologist and work with children that have Autism. She has been nominated Greek of the Week for her dedication to her sorority. Last year, AXiD won Sorority of the Year and Outstanding Alumni Relations award after only being an established chapter for two years.
