Sigma Pi Fraternity will be re-establishing their chapter at the University of Rhode Island in Fall 2023.
Suspended Organizations
The following Greek-letter organizations were either suspended or removed by the University of Rhode Island and their Executive Office. When a suspension term is completed, the group is eligible to return to URI. Students should not be seeking membership in organizations during the time an organization is suspended from URI. Doing so is a violation of the Student Handbook Policy and at places students risk for health and safety given the reasons the organizations were suspended.

- Health & Safety – Risk Management, Alcohol/Drug, or Hazing
- Academic – falls below North-American Interfraternity Conference, National Panhellenic Conference, or individual organization standards
- Financial – organization is in financial default reported by inter/national executive office to the University
