Are you the first in your family to attend a four year University? Connect with faculty, staff, and students who were 1st too! Explore resources, clubs, and organizations. Celebrate success stories and begin to create your own!
The Office of Enrollment Services includes the departments of financial aid, billing, and registration. Staff members from these departments will be in the Ryan Center at the Involvement and Resource Fair from 9:00-12:15 p.m. Please keep in mind that we are not able to increase merit scholarships or award scholarships to students who do not satisfy the minimum criteria. Also, financial aid awards are only adjusted if you have experienced a significant financial change since filing your FAFSA.
Come to this session to learn about URI’s Honors Program, which offers interdisciplinary educational experiences that prepare students for the challenges awaiting them upon graduation. Students who have not yet been invited to join the Honors Program may attend if they’d like to learn more about becoming a part of the program in the future.
Are you looking forward to getting involved at URI? Attend this fair to meet professional staff, learn about resources available to students, and talk to current students representing a variety of clubs and organizations.
Enjoy a complimentary lunch on us! Experience a sampling of our delicious dining hall food.
Are you excited but full of questions about the next steps in the college process? Attend this session to listen to parents/family members of current URI students share what they wish they had known and what they have learned. Attend this session with your student or split up to maximize your day (we recommend students attend the Student Panel or Rhody Bound Session-conveniently located in the same building).
Attend this session to learn more about our pre-health professions advising program which supports student and recent alumni preparing to apply for admission to medical, dental, optometry, physician assistant, and other health profession training programs at the doctoral or masters level.
Have you already committed to URI or are you planning to deposit soon? Choose this session to learn more about the next steps in your URI journey. Led by the New Student Programs Office, this session will include information about orientation, academic advising, housing and dining applications, support services and more. You’ll also be able to meet some of the Orientation Leaders who will be greeting you this June.
Do you want to learn more about what it’s like to be a student at URI? Attend this session to hear from students about their diverse experiences here. The panelists will tell you why they chose URI, what has made their experience here so great, and will provide tips on how to make the most of your time at URI.
Want to check out our beautiful campus? The tour includes a variety of academic buildings, athletic facilities, and a first year residence hall. If you need mobility assistance with the tour, please notify a member of the Admission Staff in the Ryan Center North Lobby.
Have you already been on a full campus tour but would like to see more of our residence halls? Select this tour to see samples of different styles of residence halls for our first-year, returning, and transfer students.
We are happy that you are excited about the day’s offerings! Welcome Day is designed so you can select the events that interest you the most. We recommend you prioritize your 6 favorites and attend those (please note you will need to arrive at 8:45 a.m. to participate in all 6 options). Another way to participate in more than 6 options is for your family to split up.
Not a problem! Welcome Day is designed so you can get exactly what you need out of the day (although we recommend attending at least 4 options to get the full experience).
Not a problem. You can attend a session you didn’t register for and do not need to go into your account to change it.
Totally fine. We do recommend that you arrive 30 minutes before your first block so you can check in and get to your location. Also, we recommend not leaving during a block so you can get the full experience of that session.
It is up to you. The full campus tour is a great way to experience campus. Even if you have already been on tour you will be able to meet a new tour guide and learn about their experience at URI. Also, keep in mind that you have the option to take a residence hall only tour.
Each event is scheduled to last the full hour. The only way to experience more than one event during a block of time is to have another member of your family attend the other session.
Yes! There will be a “Pay Your Enrollment Deposit” table at the Ryan Center until 4:00 p.m.
Fantastic! We recommend using two of your blocks to check out your top 2 academic interests. To learn more about other majors/minors, you can check out their websites and/or call the department directly.
No, but there are buses available to take you to your sessions. We recommend a full walking tour if you haven’t yet toured our campus.
At URI we are proud of our walkable campus. Find your session locations by entering the building’s address in your smartphone map app (don’t forget to select the “walk” options). Buses are also available for transportation around campus.
Our dining services team has created a menu for today that includes vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. If you have dietary questions about the ingredients of an item, please ask a staff member for assistance.
If you are not sure into which academic college your major falls, please go to our majors page.
If you need lodging before or after Welcome Day, please go to our visit page to discover the local accommodations.
