Our drop-in center (located in room LL4 of the Carothers Library) is staffed with peer tutors in the afternoon/evening Mondays through Thursdays. This is a great place for students to work on homework, ask quick questions, and meet other students taking similar courses.
Subjects offered: ACC, BAI, BIO, CHM, CSC, ECN, FIN, MTH, NUR, PHY, STA.
Drop-In Center hours: For Summer 2024, tutoring will take place in an online drop-in format Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 5:00-7:00pm. Learn more about our tutoring schedule and how to enter the online drop-in.
Policies:
- Students are permitted to utilize the drop-in center as much as they would like while the center is open.
- Students must swipe in and out of each drop-in center visit at the reception kiosk.
- No graded exams or quizzes may be worked on in the drop-in center.
- Students are welcome to borrow resources from the reception desk (ie. laptops, scientific calculators) while working with a tutor. These resources can be borrowed for up to 3 hours and must not leave the AEC space at any time.
- At Capacity Policy–This policy is in place to manage student numbers during drop-in tutoring, ensuring the best quality support and preventing peer tutors from becoming overwhelmed. If a subject area and/or class subject is full, it may close temporarily during the drop-in hours. In that case, we recommend you check back in an hour for possible reopening or use TracCloud to schedule an online occasional session or weekly tutoring group.
- Signing in for a different course, then using tutors in the closed section is not permitted.
