Biography
Marie McGovern joined the Academic Testing Center (ATC) team at URI in 2025. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island and is excited to return to campus in a professional role that supports student success. Marie brings a warm and welcoming presence to the ATC, greeting students with calmness and care to help set a positive tone for their testing experience.
Marie is passionate about helping students feel supported and confident. She looks forward to contributing to a culture of academic integrity and consistency while ensuring each student feels seen and respected.
Outside of work, Marie enjoys playing the violin and spending time with her identical twin sister. She’s still close friends with the first person she met on her freshman move-in day at Tucker Hall. A fun fact: she helped create one of the beloved trolls in Rhode Island! Her favorite place in the state is Weekapaug.
Primary Responsibilities
Proctors support daily operations of the ATC. This involves administrative duties to prepare for daily testing sessions, facilitating student check-in, proctoring exams, responding to faculty and student questions, and promoting a culture of academic integrity.
