Biography
Brooke D’Aloisio is currently a teaching professor of Business Analytics at the University of Rhode Island. She grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and was always fascinated with mathematics. Throughout her degree programs, she became increasingly interested in business and financial decision making. After working in business and teaching mathematics in K-12 programs across Rhode Island, she began her career in higher education. Prior to her current position, Brooke taught classes for URI’s School of Education and the Mathematics Department. She also teaches in the Talent Development Summer program and serves as the Liaison for TD and the College of Business. She is the faculty advisor for the Business Living Learning Community (BLLC) in Bressler and Adams Hall.
Brooke is interested in researching how students learn mathematics, cope with mathematical anxiety, and transition from high school to college-level mathematics courses, especially within the business major. The importance of social justice is embedded throughout her work. She is also interested in quantitative decision-making and applications of calculus in business scenarios.
When Brooke is not teaching, she enjoys planning new courses and researching ways to enhance instructional strategies. She also loves to cook and bake.
Research
