Transfer Information

General Admission Requirements

All students must meet basic college-preparatory unit requirements (typically completed in high school):

  • 4 units in English
  • 3 units in math (Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry)
  • 2 units in science
  • 2 units in history/social science
  • 2 units in the same foreign language

Transfer students who meet the prerequisite courses and grade-point average are eligible to apply for admission to the College of Business BSBA programs and transfer into the degree-granting College of Business.

Please note:
If the Business Statistics course does not transfer as the equivalent to Business Statistics that is required at URI (BAI 210 or STA 308), students will be asked to stay in University College until they take the appropriate statistics course. Students may not know how their statistics course will transfer in advance.

Due to the nature of the AACSB-accredited BSBA program, courses need to be taken in order. Capacity in some courses is limited, particularly in popular majors. These constraints may extend time to degree.

Transfer students may seek J-Term and summer courses during their initial enrollment period, when other students may have already registered. Please plan to be flexible with your schedule and take electives until you are in the degree-granting College of Business.
