Paul DePace, P.E.

Biography

Paul DePace P.E. (URI ’66, MBA ’75) has been an employee of URI for the past 40 Years. He started out as the director of Physical Plant and is currently the Director of Capital Projects. He has overseen about a billion dollars worth of construction and renovations over the years and adding about a million and a half in square footage to the campus. Previous to the university Paul has worked as an engineer for Raytheon and Electric Boat. DePace has also been the former president of International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS), and a past member of the International Paralympic Committee serving at 14 Paralympic Games in various roles including Chef de Mission of the US team in Barcelona 1992 and member of the Paralympic Order. DePace is currently the Chair of the RI Building Code Standards Committee, Vice-Chair of the Appeals Board of the Rehabilitation Building and Fire Code for existing buildings and structures and member of the Accessibility Committee of the Governor’s Commission on Disabilities.
