The Adult Higher Education Alliance (AHEA) has awarded The Alan Mandell Mentoring Award to Kathy Peno of the University of Rhode Island, to recognize her effortless and consistent investment in the lives of students and colleagues, serving as a mentor to many in the field. Dr. Peno has served on AHEA’s board for seven years, including president-elect, president, and past president, and she has championed adult education and supported graduate students entering the field. She has also served as a mentor to many AHEA board members and is a dedicated educator and encourager for many in the field.

Dr. Kathy Peno will receive her award on March 11th at the 2022 Adult Higher Education Alliance annual conference: Adult Education for the Human Condition: Global Issues and Trauma-Informed Learning”.
