Computer Labs

The Providence Campus has one computer lab and one computing lounge:

  • Room 301E is newly renovated with comfortable furniture, study pods with integrated monitors for sharing content and collaborating, and three daily use computers.
  • Room 301C (Multimedia Lab) has 21 computer stations, available for general use or class reservation.
  • Mobile Lab has 25 Windows laptops available for use in a general assignment classroom (GAC) in this building. Laptops are not loaned out individually and are only available for reservation by an instructor or event coordinator.


Monday–Thursday: 8:00 a.m.– 9:45 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m.– 1:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: Closed

The Information and Instructional Technology Services (IITS) group provides computer and classroom technology support for the URI Providence Campus. When facilities are not in use by classes, URI faculty, staff, and students may use them after signing in with a valid URI ID.

Windows and Mac computers are available for daily use. Users must provide their own drives for data storage.

Lab Assistants are present to provide security and give basic assistance in using the facilities. The Lab Assistants are not expected to teach users how to use the equipment or provide in-depth consultation on difficult problems.
