URI is offering Cybersecurity Graduate Degree Scholarships that provide up to $10,000 to cover the cost of courses in the graduate cybersecurity program at the University of Rhode Island during the academic year of the award.
Eligible applicants for this scholarship must:
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Be admitted to URI’s Professional Science Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity (PSM) program, or URI’s Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity (Grad Cert) program. Current students may apply at any time during their program; new students may apply concurrently with their application to their program.
- Have their Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file at URI at the time of application for the scholarship.
Cybersecurity Graduate Degree Scholarship Dates For Academic Year 25/26:
- January 1, 2025: Scholarship applications open
- April 1, 2025: Last day for first round of applications. If funding is still available after first round scholarship awards, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis after April 1
- May 1, 2025: First Round scholarship winners announced.
Scholarship Selection Criteria. The criteria used by the Graduate Cybersecurity Degree Scholarship Selection Committee to determine scholarship awards include:
- Financial need
- Academic performance/potential
- Diversity/equity/inclusion of students from demographic groups underrepresented in the Cybersecurity profession.
