Computer Science Students Attend TAPIA Conference

Several Computer Science students made the trip to San Diego, CA this Fall to attend Tapia 2019, a conference that promotes and celebrates diversity in computing.   Named for Richard Tapia, an individual who is recognized as a leader when it comes to diversity, the conference theme focuses on inspiring underserved students by connecting them with industry leaders who have common backgrounds, ethnicities, disabilities and gender. Faculty member Dr. Marco Alvarez Vega also attended the conference with Yeury Galva Liriano ‘20, Luis Leonardo Polanco ‘20 and Phidias Mendez ‘21.  The students were honored to have been chosen from many applicants .
