Biography

In May 2022, I received my Masters of Environmental Science and Management from the University of Rhode Island, specializing in environmental communication and with a certificate in Science Writing and Rhetoric. My research has focused on fishermen’s perspectives of maritime heritage resources in Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary and how to communicate with the industry effectively to protect shipwrecks. Prior to graduate school, I worked for NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries as an education specialist using digital technologies to communicate ocean science and stewardship with Sanctuaries Live and Sanctuaries 360°. My professional interests are at the intersection of society and science, particularly around the use of marine resources. I am currently a project manager at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute supporting the Fisheries Technical Assistance Program working on electronic monitoring as a tool to manage fisheries in New England.
