Biography

I am an uprising senior studying Wildlife and Conservation Biology and some of the things I enjoy greatly are going on runs, walking through nature, and cooking. At URI, I serve on the eboard for Seeds of Success which is a multicultural organization that provides an environment that promotes the success outcomes of students from underrepresented backgrounds. Being involved within the natural world within my field classes and providing academic/career aid to other students through Seeds of Success has sparked my interest in sharing this perspective of the environment to others. I hope this passion for nature and helping people, my background in science communication through courses and my research experiences will allow me to inspire change through this fellowship as my goal is to bring various perspectives, people, and cultures together to science. While focusing on science communication in my environmental-based academic career, I hope to possibly be able to shape how society looks at different sectors within the issues deeply rooted in environmental destruction. The academic experiences within my major have sparked my interests in plant research where I hope after graduation to earn a PhD in Botany.
