Faculty Awards and Recognitions

Dr. Lazaro Camacho Jr

Chosen as the recipient of the Outstanding Professional Award, from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). Additionally, Dr. Camacho was selected for the NASPA Emerging Faculty Leaders Academy, and as the NASPA Region 1 Faculty Representative, for the NASPA Socioeconomic and Class Issues in Higher Education Knowledge Community.

Dr. Kathy Peno

Selected for the Alan Mandell Mentoring Award, recognizing her efforts and consistent investment in the lives of students and colleagues, serving as a mentor to many in the field. Dr. Peno has championed adult education and supported graduate students entering the field. She has also served as a mentor to many AHEA board members and is a dedicated educator and encourager for many in the field. Dr. Peno received the award on March 11 at the 2022 Adult Higher Education Alliance annual conference: “Adult Education for the Human Condition: Global Issues and Trauma-Informed Learning.”
