Credit bearing field experiences may be completed as a one-semester practicum or an academic-year internship experience. Placements are offered at URI and higher education entities in the vicinity.

Also, hands-on experience is an integral part of the CSP curriculum. In many CSP courses, assignments require you to work collaboratively with student affairs offices at URI or other higher education institutions.

Summer Opportunities

While not for academic credit, many of our students gain valuable field experience through compensated summer opportunities offered by professional student affairs organizations. For example, the ACUHO-I Housing Internship Program and NODA Internship Program are popular summer experiences— in addition to other jobs at universities typically in the Southern New England region.
