Focus Option 4:Student Defined
LEiA also provides a flexible pathway for students who begin in certification programs (such as Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education) but later decide to pursue a non-certification route. The program recognizes the significant learning these students have already undertaken in the field of education and ensures that their coursework continues to count meaningfully toward degree progress. The fourth focus option is particularly well suited for such students, as it allows them to apply prior education coursework both to focus courses and to professional electives.
