Ph.D. in Education

Funding

Tuition and fees for graduate degrees at URI can be found on the URI Enrollment Services page. The Ph.D. program in Education is not eligible for regional residency. Also, please note that the address listed on your application will determine your eligibility for instate or out of state tuition for the entirety of your program.

The URI Graduate School offers a number of funding options for admitted students. The College of Education also offers a limited number of graduate teaching assistantships and graduate research assistantships annually. Once admitted, students will be informed of available fellowships and assistantships and encouraged to submit a secondary application. These funding applications are competitive and are reserved for students planning to enroll in the program as a full time student. Other on-campus employment opportunities (hourly wage, no tuition) are listed via Handshake.

While in the program doctoral students can apply for funding to support travel to conferences and/or to support dissertation research.
