International Engineering Program

About the IEP

Since 1987, the International Engineering Program has provided an unmatched global engineering experience for students looking to leave their mark on society. Jointly administered by the College of Engineering and the College of Arts & Sciences, the program marries engineering and foreign language for a seamless five-year experience.

Engaging with the IEP

Leadership

The University of Rhode Island provides research and expertise to institutions across the country on how to build and sustain international engineering programs, integrate their engineering and language programs, create appropriate research venues, and engage industry.

The program also benefits from the invaluable input of an Advisory Council composed of educators, business leaders, and alumni.

The IEP established a yearly forum on international engineering education, called the Annual Colloquium on International Education (ACIEE). Educators, industry professionals, higher education staff, students and alumni discuss topics relevant within this unique academic intersection of engineering, the humanities, study abroad and global work experiences. You can find out more about this event in the “Colloquium” tab.
