International Engineering Program
German
The country that gave us the BMW, high-speed trains and other engineering feats is a perfect place to learn cutting-edge engineering. Students in the German engineering program encounter some of the world’s most respected engineers and spend time in a country centrally located in Europe.
Students in the German IEP spend a semester at two top technical universities: the Technische Universität Braunschweig or Technische Universität Darmstadt in Germany. Students then hold a paid internship at an engineering firm. Students have previously interned at BASF, BMW, Bosch, Hochtief, IAV, Merck, Siemens, ZF, Züblin and many others.

Additional Language Opportunities
Germany J-Term Study Tour
January, over winter break
For students enrolled in the International Engineering and International Business Programs, it is crucial to get some short-term immersion experience in the country in which they will spend their senior year. This program will allow students to experience the context of the German language and engineering/business studies. Students earn 1 or 3 URI credits. The course gives students the opportunity to explore the culture, technology environment and communicate with their budding language skills. Visit the program’s current student blog project (as well as some past projects: 2018, 2016, 2015) for additional information.
