Melissa Schenck, coordinator of the University of Rhode Island International Engineering Program, was named the recipient of the 2022 Staff Excellence Award from the URI Foundation & Alumni Engagement.
As IEP’s coordinator, Schenck organizes recruitment and retention efforts, engages with the IEP community through social media, and works with program directors and student ambassadors to plan and host events.
Schenck graduated from URI in 2009, majoring in Secondary Education and Spanish. She continued her studies at URI, while instructing two undergraduate Spanish courses per semester. She earned her master’s degree in Hispanic Studies in 2011.
Melissa became the IEP coordinator in 2018.
