About

The Office of Capital Program Design and Delivery supports the University’s mission by designing and delivering capital projects that create modern, sustainable, facilities that advance teaching, research, and community engagement. The office manages all phases of capital projects including program verification, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, permitting, bidding, contracting, site logistics, mobilization, construction, commissioning, occupancy and closeout. By collaborating with university stakeholders, the office successfully completes projects that are effectively integrated with the campus context.

Mission

The mission of the Office of Capital Program Design and Delivery is to design and deliver high-quality, sustainable, and forward-looking capital projects that advance the University’s student-centered research mission and strategic priorities. The office responsibly stewards resources to strengthen the University’s long-term impact in alignment with the 20-year Comprehensive Master Plan, and those initiatives identified in the Focus URI Strategic Plan to:

• Produce dynamic and engaging learning environments that enhance student success
• Create innovative spaces that enable research, creativity, and global collaboration
• Foster an inclusive, equitable, and accessible campus community

Staff

Our team of architects, engineers, project managers, and professional staff ensure a cohesive approach to campus design and construction that results in an evolving campus that is harmonious but not homogenous. The office guarantees projects provide optimal value in alignment with the university’s strategic goals and campus masterplan, while adhering to established scopes, projected schedules, defined budgets, sustainability initiatives, and mandated regulatory requirements.
