HOUSING/ENROLLMENT ASSUMPTIONS AND CENSUS

Housing Assumptions: URI has made an assumption about your housing status because the FAFSA no longer collects data reflecting student’s housing plans. Notify Enrollment Services if they do not reflect your actual housing plan by completing the Student Housing Plans  form. This assumption does not relate to housing deposits, assignments, or your actual living situation.

Enrollment Assumptions: Your actual enrollment will be reviewed after the end of the add/drop period each semester, known as Census or Fixed Enrollment Date. URI assumes full-time enrollment for all undergraduate students who are not enrolled exclusively in online programs. Your enrollment will be frozen for financial aid purposes on that date.  If you are enrolled for fewer than 12 credits, your financial aid will be adjusted to reflect the lower cost of attendance due to your decreased enrollment status.

Census Definition: Your eligibility for financial aid will be based on your enrollment on the Financial Aid Census Date, which is 9/14/2024 for the 2024-25 academic year.
