First Year Students Financial Aid Update

We understand that this year’s college admission process has included significant challenges due to ongoing issues with the implementation of the new FAFSA, which is overseen by the U.S. Department of Education. At URI, we’re committed to assisting and supporting your decision-making process for newly admitted students. If you require more time to make your decision, please feel free to take it; there will be no penalties.

We urge you to submit a deposit promptly to kickstart your experience with our excellent orientation and onboarding program: Rhode To Becoming A Ram. At this time, we are encouraging those who would like to attend URI this fall to pay their deposits by the end of May. For first-year students wishing to reside on campus, on-campus housing will be available through this timeline.

FAFSA Processing Updates

Most students can now complete the 2024-25 FAFSA! The US Department of Education is now allowing students to make corrections to their FAFSA.

We encourage students to log into the FAFSA to confirm that their FAFSA status is “Processed” and that URI is listed as a school that should receive the results. See Applying for Financial Aid 2024-25 below for more information.
