Alpha Chi Omega is excited to re-establish our Gamma Sigma chapter and join the sorority and fraternity community at the University of Rhode Island during the Fall 2021 semester! We want to build a successful chapter at URI and to help us do that, we’re looking for a group of Real. Strong. Women. Women who want to make a difference on campus, make fun memories and develop friendships that will last a lifetime.
Since 1885, with more than 145 chapters coast to coast, Alpha Chi Omega has been committed to assisting members in seeking the heights. We inspire women to realize their potential by providing opportunities for friendship, leadership, learning and service. Our members will strive to maintain a high standard of academic achievement and seek involvement in a wide variety of activities and leadership positions. At the same time our chapter calendar will provide numerous opportunities for fun and for maintaining a close-knit sisterhood.
Alpha Chi Omega is also dedicated to raising awareness and educating others about domestic violence. We stand behind this epidemic as it affects women all over the world. Together, we work to fight against unhealthy relationships and change the culture of silence around domestic violence and sexual assault. Members serve individuals and families impacted by domestic violence through fundraising and gifts of time and talents for shelters and other service-providing organizations. Alpha Chi Omega also works to educate its own members, giving them tools to build their own healthy relationships, and to raise awareness of domestic violence by educating others on the impacts of and work being done to end it.
More information will be share in the coming months regarding the timeline of Alpha Chi Omega’s return to URI. Email URI@alphachiomega.org for more information or follow them on Instagram at @urialphachi
