URI has moved to a new waiver and enrollment partner, Academic Health Plans (AHP). AHP manages waivers and all insurance enrollments for students.

Injury/Sickness Insurance
Health insurance coverage is required for full-time students attending the URI Kingston Campus. URI offers coverage through United Healthcare Student Resources at the rates below, which are automatically added to your initial tuition bill. If you already have comparable coverage, you may request a health insurance waiver via the AHP website to have the charge removed from your bill.
Please note: International plans must meet specific requirements to be considered comparable in order to waive the school sponsored insurance.
