COVID-19 Tracker

As COVID-19 moves to an endemic stage, the University has shifted its testing regimen from conducting routine surveillance testing to concentrating on providing same-day testing for students who have symptoms of COVID-19 and/or those who have been exposed to a case and identified as a close contact.

Given this, the COVID-19 tracker is no longer an accurate representation of the virus in our community and has been retired in favor of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 Community Risk Levels.

COVID-19 Community Risk Levels

With current high levels of vaccination and high levels of population immunity from both vaccination and infections, the risk of medically significant disease, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19 is greatly reduced for most people. At the same time, we know that some people and communities, such as our older adults, people who are immunocompromised, and people with severe and/or multiple health conditions, are at higher risk for serious illness and face challenging decisions navigating a world with COVID-19.

The CDC has developed COVID-19 Community Risk Levels to help communities and individuals make decisions based on their local context and their unique needs. These levels take into account a combination of three metrics — new COVID-19 hospital admissions per 100,000 population in the past 7 days, the percent of staffed inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients, and total new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population in the past 7 days.
