URI Health Services offers high quality instruction in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid for adults, children, and infants. The training includes:
- The American Heart Association (AHA) Chain of Survival, specifically the Basic Life Support (BLS) components
- the importance of early use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- effective ventilations using a barrier device
- the importance of teams in a multi-rescuer resuscitation performance as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
- relief of foreign-body airway obstructions (choking) for adults and infants

Open to all URI students, staff, and faculty, as well as the local community

CPR and rescue breathing for victims of all ages—including ventilation with barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen, use of automated external defibrillator (AED) and relieving choking victims (foreign body airway obstruction). | $45 for URI students, staff and faculty NO CHARGE FOR NURSING STUDENTS. $60 for all others *Please complete payment prior to scheduling. | Complete registration. Once submitted, you will receive payment instructions. Within 24-48 you will receive a link to complete the Online CPR Course and evaluation once payment is received. | To schedule a group CPR In Person Skills Test please use this LINK. Skills Test take 20-30 minutes to complete. You must have a copy of your Online Course Completion Certificate before you schedule your skills test. The Online Course Completion Certificate is given after completing the Online CPR course and the course evaluation. |
HeartSaver CPR Class
For lay responders who are serving as rescuers as part of their jobs with the option of having an AED component. Examples: Police, lifeguards, firefighters, security personnel, and office workers.
