Violence Prevention and Advocacy Services (VPAS) at URI is committed to creating and maintaining a campus environment free from all forms of sexual violence, sexual harassment, relationship violence and stalking.

VPAS is a confidential survivor-centered, trauma-informed resource to provide students support, advocacy, information and resources. Our staff is trained in providing advocacy for students who have experienced sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking. We provide confidential resources year round to assist the URI Community.

Commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Interpersonal violence is an issue that impacts individuals across race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, ability, religion, and socioeconomic status. VPAS recognizes concerns that may dissuade an individual from reporting interpersonal violence including racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, biphobia, queerphobia, and transphobia from law enforcement, service providers, and others. VPAS is committed to providing support, safety, and advocacy resources to all URI students.
