2026 Move-In Dates
See below the designated move-in dates by building. Generally:
- Incoming first year students will move in Friday, September 4th or Saturday, September 5th.
- Incoming transfer students will move in on the day their building is scheduled to open.
- Returning students will move in mostly on Sunday September 6th and Monday September 7th. Limited timeslots will also be made available on Saturday, September 5th in select buildings.
- Students will be able to select their specific move-in times in late July/early August. Please stay tuned to your uri.edu email over the summer for further details as they become available.

An early arrival request process will be available in early August.
Please note, approved early arrivals may incur additional costs.
These estimated rates will also be made available as the request form goes live.
If you need a later move-in date, no worries!
Your ID and PIN will be active for move-in once your building has opened.
Please be advised that our staff will be assisting move- in at other buildings but we will have someone available in the staff office should you encounter any issues.
Meal plans will begin on September 4th, but perhaps with restricted service.
Students who may be participating in some URI special programs (e.g. Athletics, Band, Chinese Flagship, Leadership, ROTC, etc.) may have the opportunity to move in earlier than their buildings assigned date. Students should work with their program coordinator for details, including possible additional costs.
