This redevelopment will bring a fresh, modern living environment that fosters both academic success and community connection among URI’s graduate students.
Housing Availability During Construction
During demolition and construction, URI will have limited graduate housing available. For this reason, the University Graduate Village Apartments wait list is temporarily closed.
Students already on the wait list will retain their position and be contacted in order if a space becomes available. Priority will be given to matriculated, full-time graduate students. A university-wide update will be shared in Fall 2027 once applications for the new community reopen.
Explore Other Housing Resources
While we build the next generation of graduate housing, we encourage students to explore local housing options and university resources:
Graduate Student Association (GSA) Housing Board
Find or post listings for apartments, rooms, or roommates.
Commuter Affairs Office
View listings of apartments and houses for rent off-campus.
Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS)
Support for international students transitioning to URI life.
Looking Ahead
The new University Graduate Village will offer modern living, community connection, and convenient amenities designed to meet the needs of graduate students.
Stay tuned for updates, design previews, and more as construction progresses!
We can’t wait to welcome you home in Fall 2028!
