Biography

Victoria Andrade-Fonseca (she/her) is originally from Dartmouth, Massachusetts. She found her home in Rhode Island when she attended Bryant University for her undergraduate studies. In the spring of 2022, Victoria graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology with minors in Africana/Black Studies and Human Resources Management. While at Bryant, she discovered her passion for working in higher education and creating spaces for underrepresented student populations through her work in the PWC Center for Diversity & Inclusion and the Center for Student Leadership & Involvement. Without truly knowing it at the time, this experience as a student leader emphasized the importance of integrating social justice into leadership styles and demonstrated her commitment to fostering diverse, inclusive, and engaging learning environments for students. Victoria is a 2024 graduate from the College Student Personnel Master’s Program here at URI. During her graduate program, she held graduate assistantships in Enrollment Services and the Women’s Center and internships at the Rhode Island School of Design in their Equity & Compliance Office, the Center for Student Leadership Development, and URI’s PASS Program. Victoria started her professional career as a Coordinator in the Multicultural Student Services Center and later transitioned to be a Coordinator in the Office of Community, Equity, and Diversity here at URI. Driven by cultural competency, social justice, equity, and inclusion, Victoria strives to make higher education more accessible, meaningful, and equitable for all students. This focus allows her to advocate for all students, ensuring equal access to resources, opportunities, and experiences.
