Leadership Institute 2024 will be held between Wednesday, August 28-Friday, August 30. Space is limited; submit your application early! There are three parts to the application:
- Part 1: Student Information
- Part 2: Essay
- Part 3: Character Reference [optional]
Please read through all instructions thoroughly. Completed registrations include Parts 1 and 2, and are due by Monday, July 08, 2024.
Part 1: Student Information
This part should be completed by the student, only needs to be submitted once, and can be submitted before your essay. You must be signed into your URI account to complete this part.

Topic:
1) Why do you want to attend the Leadership Institute?
2) What is your “why”? What motivates you to lead or serve? Give examples of how you have done this already or how you plan to do this in your time at URI. We want to know who you are, what you are interested in, what you hope to be involved in at the University, etc. This is not a “sales pitch” to us; we want to read/hear about your authentic self. So spend your time in your essay being honest, open and descriptive.
Maximum of 2 pages, double-spaced; or 4 minutes. Please ensure your name is included in writing or verbally within the essay AND in the file name. A copy of your responses will be sent to you for confirmation.
