Early Move In Notice

[Updated 8/6] Our list of participants has been sent to Housing and Residential Life (HRL) and they will update your information on the portal in the coming weeks. Please follow their instructions to move in.

All participants must complete an early move in form located in the MyHousing link provided by HRL, or they will not have access to their residence halls. You must indicate August 27 as your move in date on the form. Your Student ID and code to your room in your MyHousing will be activated for our date once you complete the form.

Those moving in Tuesday August 27 will be charged 3 days of early move-in at the approved rate of $25 a day ($75 total), which will show up on your fall term bill and need to be paid before registering for spring classes. (Just a note, the early move in cost for those not with an approved program is $75 a day, so our cost is a significant discount.)

Below you will find general information regarding frequently asked questions, and a step-by-step guide to confirm your spot in the program, including the required forms, and payment information. Please read through all details thoroughly.

Step 1 – RSVP

Your confirmation is due by Monday, July 22, 2024. To get started, you will need your URI single sign on login credentials.

  • Check your URI email inbox for a message with the subject line Event Invitation: Leadership Institute 2024. Open the message and click on the RSVP button. If the RSVP button produces an error, you can go directly to urinvolved.uri.edu
  • Create your URInvolved account.
  • If you went to URInvolved directly, scroll on your homepage to find the Leadership Institute 2024 event and click in. If your RSVP button was successful, you will be directed to the event page automatically. Once in the event page, click on “Continue to RSVP” button
  • Indicate whether you will, or will not be attending. If you are attending, please fill out the additional questions to complete your RSVP.
  • You will receive an email confirmation to your URI email from URInvolved.

Step 2 – Required Forms

Your completed forms are due by Monday, July 22, 2024. If you are under 18 years of age, you must have a parent / legal guardian sign these forms. Please download the forms provided below and open the PDFs from your downloads folder. They may be filled out, signed, and submitted electronically. You will receive a confirmation email upon submission and approval. If your forms are denied, please read comments provided, make corrections, and resubmit.

Step 3 – Payment

The $225 participant fee is due by 9 AM on Monday, July 29, 2024. Please note that payments will only be accepted from students who have been accepted to the Leadership Institute and who have confirmed their spot above. Payments submitted by students who have not been accepted or have not confirmed their spot will be refunded. There are 3 options for payment:

  • Pay by credit card via Eventbrite. Please note this option includes ticketing fees for a total payment of $241.98. These fees are controlled by Eventbrite (3.7% service fee and $1.79 per sold ticket + 2.9% payment processing fee)
  • Pay by Ram Account. Please note this option includes a service fee of 3.1% for a total payment of $231.97. To pay by Ram Account, please first ensure that you have funds in your account. Then email us at leadership@etal.uri.edu from your URI email with the subject line “Leadership Institute Payment” and indicate your ID number in the message and that you authorize payment from your Ram Account for Leadership Institute in the amount of $231.97. A receipt will be sent once the transaction is complete.
  • Pay by check. No additional fees. Please make the $225 check payable to “Center for Student Leadership Development” and ensure the student participant’s name and ID number are indicated in the memo line. Mail to: Center for Student Leadership Development ATTN: Melissa Camba-Kelsay | 50 Lower College Road | Memorial Union Room 210 | Kingston, RI 02881. Please ensure it is postmarked by Friday, July 26th.
