Maple Syrup’s Ability to Protect Against Liver Inflammation

Disclaimer: The findings discussed are lab based and further studies need to be done.

We have previously shared research that explains the endless amounts of antioxidants found in maple syrup, these antioxidants can help prevent Alzheimer’s disease, cancers, and aid the immune system. Now, scientists furthered their research and discovered that the properties found in maple syrup can even prevent liver inflammation.

Scientists used three random groups of rats during this experiment. Group one was fed a low-fat diet, group two was fed a high-fat diet, and group three were fed a high-fat diet with maple syrup extract. After a period of time of being exposed to these diets, the genetic makeup of each rat was examined, and it was found that those who consumed a high-fat diet with maple syrup extract presented a higher immune response that protected against liver inflammation.
